Journalism is a profession that constantly evolves alongside technological advances, the rise of artificial intelligence, and the growing spread of misinformation and disinformation. To maintain high professional standards and provide accurate, reliable, and responsible reporting, journalists must continuously invest in their education and professional development.
Ongoing training enables journalists to keep pace with new investigative techniques, improve fact-checking methodologies, and acquire the digital skills necessary for modern reporting. Continuous learning strengthens their ability to identify misinformation, verify sources, and navigate increasingly complex information environments.
Natasa and Barbara recognize the importance of lifelong learning and regularly participate in both national and international professional training programs and conferences. Among the most significant was our participation in Global Fact 2026, one of the leading international gatherings of fact-checking professionals. The conference provided valuable insights into emerging fact-checking methodologies, digital investigations, and international cooperation in combating disinformation.

Another important milestone was our participation in Disinfo 2025, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The conference brought together journalists, researchers, academics, and fact-checking experts to discuss the latest developments, challenges, and best practices in the fight against disinformation and information manipulation.

In addition, we have acquired valuable expertise through training and methodologies developed at Bellingcat, an internationally recognized organization specializing in open-source intelligence (OSINT) and digital investigative journalism. These skills have enhanced our ability to verify information, analyze digital evidence, and conduct in-depth investigative reporting.
The value of continuous professional development is reflected in the quality and impact of our work. Our investigative dossier on the Dobrunje development project was recognized with an environmental journalism award, acknowledging the depth, rigor, and public significance of our reporting. This achievement demonstrates that ongoing education, professional excellence, and a commitment to investigative journalism are essential components of impactful and socially responsible media work.
At a time when information is abundant but trust is increasingly challenged, continuous education remains one of the fundamental pillars of quality journalism. Only journalists who consistently expand their knowledge, refine their skills, and adapt to new challenges can effectively fulfill their role in serving the public interest and providing accurate, verified, and meaningful information.

SUPPORT US. SUPPORT INDEPENDENT JOURNALISM.
Why support us?
Because we are independent of political parties and powerful financial interests. Because people and their rights come first.
In a world where the voices of ordinary people are too often ignored, and where financial and political pressure prevents important information from reaching the public, investigative journalism remains one of the last safeguards of truth, accountability and justice.
Too often, media outlets are used to serve political or commercial interests instead of the public interest. Investigative reporting requires independence, time, resources and the courage to publish stories that powerful people would rather keep hidden.
Your support is more than a donation. It is a vote of confidence in independent journalism and in a society where wrongdoing can be exposed, where no one can buy silence, and where the public has the right to know.
Your donation enables us to investigate corruption, uncover hidden stories, expose abuse of power, verify facts and protect people whose voices would otherwise remain unheard. It helps us continue our work in the public interest and strengthens the fight against corruption, disinformation and injustice.
